DEVOTION
Our inheritance into the Kingdom of God is certain. Can I get an Amen! to that?
What He secures for us is beyond anything we can imagine—we should be filled with an awe that causes trembling with delight and wordless appreciation.
Heb 12:28-29 tells us, “Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. For our God is a devouring fire.” (NLT)
The remnants of a strong hurricane recently passed through my area. Many trees were felled by its power. Many more weren’t. They were unshakeable because their roots run deeper than we can fathom.
Catch this: Our roots are so deep in God’s Kingdom that the Bible calls it “unshakable.” We are rooted into Him in such a way we cannot be removed from His love. His strength cannot be toppled. The God of the Universe chooses us to stand in His glory! Just, wow!
We are not debris, to be cut and gathered into a burn pile. We are strengthening our presence because of His Presence in our lives.
We can give thanks to God with our voice, our prayers, our actions, our thoughts. His strength is stout, and we will not fall as long as we stay rooted in Him, entwined with everyone else who is also rooted.
Lord God, thank you for our inheritance into Your Kingdom. We are filled with amazement at the Gift of Your Son, and we accept the blessing of Your Love. Thank you for keeping us from the fires that burn, and we praise You for Your Fire that leads us to everlasting life. Amen.
