It’s Day 5 of the Gratitude for Every Day 30-Day Devotion.
DEVOTION
It’s such a blessing to be blessed. It’s even more to bless others.
We may feel unable to give to others, especially when we struggle to provide for our immediate family. God understands!
He couldn’t give what He wanted to the world He created (peace and freedom) without giving up the One thing He loves above all: His Son.
Do you feel like you’re being pulled at from all sides? Consider the resources you have:
- A tithe to keep your church going
- The opportunity to listen to someone who trusts you
- The ability to pray with someone who desperately needs God
- Strength to carry a bag to someone’s car or door
- An extra serving of food to give to your neighbor
- Paper and a pen to write encouraging notes and Scripture verses
You are never without resources to bless others. And the Bible tells us, “You will be enriched in every way for your great generosity, which will produce thanksgiving to God through us” (2 Corinthians 9:11, NRSV).
Dear God, thank you for the resources and opportunities you have given me so I may give to others. Open my storehouse tenfold so that I may see what I have received so that I may freely five. I don’t hand out handouts. I choose to hold out helping hands. In Your name. Amen.
VERSE
2 Corinthians 9:11 (ESV: English Standard Version)
