It’s Day 23 of the Gratitude for Every Day 30-Day Devotion.

DEVOTION

Gratitude — what is that? One might think of gratitude as when we get what we want, or everything goes our way, but that is just not deep gratitude. It's superficial.

True gratitude comes from a heart that knows and loves the Lord. It has a thankful heart even when things go wrong because we know there is nothing that God can not fix.

When hard times come, a grateful heart will look for things that are going right — the blessings that God already has done in our lives and the hope that God will see us through every hardship, come what may.

Take time to reflect on this...
The Israelites stayed in the wilderness for 40 years when the Promised Land was just 11 days' journey away.

WHY?? You and I can quickly pass judgment on them and say what dumb dumbs!

YET, have we been stuck in some place for far too long? Instead of thanking God that even though the road ahead is still a little bumpy, we can't see that by the grace of God, we are much better off where we are now than where we came from.

We start to complain and grumble and gripe.
Good faithfulness is quickly forgotten...

I believe that as you look for all the good things in your life, you will see that you have so much more to be thankful for.

Remember, a grateful heart will not keep you stuck in dry land; a grateful heart will keep you out. In good times and in bad times...

l Chronicles 16:34 says
O Give thanks unto the Lord; For He is good;
for His mercy endureth forever.
